Key areas:

Myrtle Beach:

60 miles of wide, soft sandy beaches, thrilling water sports, amusement parks, live entertainment and exciting nightlife, shopping and world-class golf. With the highest concentration of attractions outside Orlando, the area is an ideal family vacation destination. Relax in the sand and soak up the sun, learn how to surf or charter a fishing boat. Indulge in a few rounds of golf with more than 100 unique courses, some overlooking the sea. Flock to the shops with factory outlets, malls and speciality shops

Hilton Head:

Located off the southernmost point of South Carolina and warmed year round by the Gulf Stream, Hilton Head Island must have been created for relaxation and rejuvenation. Its 42 square miles are lapped by the gentle waters of the Atlantic Ocean, edged with 12 miles of breathtaking broad sandy beaches and enfolded by fertile salt marshes. Hilton Head is a mecca for golfers with more than 20 courses on the island open to the public. In addition there are over 300 tennis courts, more than any other resort of its size in America! The island enjoys mild temperatures, averaging in the 50s in winter and high 80s in summer. While beach and resort areas are more crowded in the summer, the spring and fall are long, idyllic seasons cherished by golfers and other active-sports enthusiasts. Hilton Head offers miles of bike paths tucked away amidst the trees and sub-tropical vegetation. Shopping is yet another favourite pastime and the area offers numerous opportunities, especially for Outlet store bargains. Shopping plazas abound and everywhere you'll find speciality stores, boutiques, antiques, art works and resort wear.

Charleston:

Charleston is America's most beautifully preserved architectural and historic treasure, with a rich 300 year heritage. The first decisive American victory during the Revolution, the first regularly scheduled passenger train service in America, the initial shots of the Civil War – Charleston is steeped in history. Step back in time and stroll the cobblestone streets of the historic district. Visit the plantation homes, tour the war-related sites like Ft. Sumter or experience the magnificent South Carolina Aquarium.

Kiawah Island:

In harmony with nature, Kiawah Island embraces both tradition and tranquility. Those seeking exquisite coastal accommodation plus private club amenities will find this here, and all close to historic Charleston. Five award-winning golf courses and top ranking tennis facilities are hallmarks of this beautiful island resort.

The villages of South Carolina:

Explore all of South Carolina on a road trip throughout the state. In addition to the exciting choices above you can visit charming historic towns including Conway, Latta, Camden and Beaufort, blessed with the warm sub-tropical climate. Gardens, vineyards, history tours, picturesque villages, kayaking, bird-watching – these are just a few of the activities you can enjoy during a fly-drive holiday to South Carolina.
