As a National Historical Landmark located in the heart of Yosemite, The Ahwahnee (formerly the Majestic Yosemite Hotel) is one of the most distinctive resort hotels in North America. It is well known for its great granite façade, striking beamed ceilings, massive stone hearths and richly coloured Native American artwork. The finely appointed guest rooms at The Ahwahnee are not of the same proportion of modern–day hotels. This difference in size is more than offset by the grand scale of the public space and the rich décor that defines the property.
