Texas

Overview

Standing proud the state of Texas was once an independent nation. This vast state - 700 miles from east to west and more than 800 from top to bottom, offers fascinating adventures. So come on and pack your Stetson!

The city of Dallas is famous, of course, for its NFL Cowboys as well as the namesake 1980’s TV series. A glamorous spirit still prevails in its upscale restaurants and nightlife. The museums here are excellent and unique — history fanatics should not miss the memorials to President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

Austin has so much to offer famous music festivals and live music at hundreds of venues. Enjoy watching an iconic football game, tuck into some delicious TexMex, shop on eclectic Congress Avenue and marvel at the Mexican free–tailed bats emerging from the Congress Bridge every night. Head outdoors to the Hill Country for hiking, swimming and wine tasting.

San Antonio’s Riverwalk, full of restaurants and bars is tucked quietly below the city’s street level. Perfect for a river cruise, it is located close to all the attractions including the famous Alamo and other historic Spanish missions.

Houston is synonymous with America’s space programme. Outside the city take a trip to visit NASA’s Space Center and Galveston Island. Houston itself is chic and full of south western charm. Take a stroll through the historic Heights or spend the day exploring the Museum District.

Travel onto the coast of Texas and you’ll find quaint seaside towns, incredible views and soft sandy beaches.
