Maine is the northernmost east coast state and is known throughout the world for its spectacular rugged coastline, inviting harbours and quaint towns.

With more than 60 lighthouses spread along the miles of coast, inlets and islands, these are an important part of local history and popular tourist attractions. “Maine Lobster” is known throughout the world and your trip won’t be complete without enjoying some. Boat tours provide a hands–on experience; sample a delicious lobster roll, or put on your bib and get ‘cracking’!

Along the southern coast, you’ll find historic seaside villages. Visit Kennebunkport, Ogunquit and York and soak up the charm. Kennebunkport’s Dock Square is where visitors love to shop in the boutiques and enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants. Or simply relax by the sandy beaches in Ogunquit and York. Portland offers a mixture of artistic and outdoor adventures. Take a boat tour to lighthouses.

Explore the galleries and museums. Along the midcoast is Boothbay Harbor, home to yachts, lobster boats and other working craft. The downtown area boasts waterfront restaurants, art galleries and antique shops as well as the Maine State Aquarium. There are plenty of boating
opportunities and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is not to be missed!

Spend the night in a charming Inn in the classic town of Rockland, the lobster capital of the world. Further north, Camden’s crooked streets around the harbour offer enticing shops, galleries, and restaurants, and sightseeing boats await their next cruise. Bar Harbor also offers a vibrant local scene of cafés and boutiques and its greatest natural attraction — spectacular Acadia National Park!
